personality: Composed and a bit of a stoic, Zade beneath the surface is anything but. Despite his rather unemotive exterior, this Au Ra hides a very emotional heart, and does not hesitate to let his opinions be known. One might call him a Pragmatic Moralist, the way he strives to be useful, but always remains mindful of his limits. As a Sharlayan graduate and former Archon, though he presents a graceful and cultured exterior, Zade is rather unorthodox by the Forum's standards, seldom visiting the scholarly island and instead comitting himself to a life of adventure and wandering. Hence, he gets along quite nicely with those of a similar nature, but does not shy away from more intellectual discussions, when the mood strikes. He is quite open about his extended lifespan, however 'tis a subject often left unexplored.
Born beneath a shooting star on a clear night many years ago, Zade awoke into the Iriq tribe, and thus grew up within its compassionate and caring community, his adolescence spent as a typical Steppe Xaela. His tribe, like many others, life a nomadic lifestyle, thus traveling between mountains and meadows north of the Steppe during certain seasons of the year. During that his childhood, Zade had an almost insatiable curiosity for the greater unknown, extending to the stars and the lands beyond the Steppe.Once of age, and with the blessings of his tribe, Zade left the Steppe behind. His early adventure took him no further than Dalmasca, where his seemingly natural aptitude for divination and astromancy caught the eyes of a Sharlayan researcher. After being tutored in the arts by his newfound mentor, Zade's next step in his journey brought him all the way across continents, to the fabled Scholar nation of Sharlayan.Needless to say, Zade's nature as a foreign student left him rather lonely socially, though he'd make a few long-lasting friendships during his studies. While a very competent spellcaster and adept at inpromptu incantations, his abysmal aether reserves kept him from performing greater feats. As a diviner however, his prowess and accurate future predictions were next to none. One night during his final year, on and island off-shore from Sharlayan, a group of students and researchers attempted opening a gate into the Void. Whatever erupted through that gate, left many on death's door. But others would remain living, in a state of perpetual stasis. Never aging. Never dying. But afflicted with a constant need for Aether, lest they'd wither away.
The Wanderer
---
Stumbling upon kind strangers on the wooden road is always a joy. It creates the chance to form friendships, share stories, and partake in sustenance before a blazing fire. So, what have you seen on your journey?
The Scholar
---
Visits to that blasted island are never long-lasting, nor do they offer much beyond dusty old tomes and migraine-inducing bureaucracy. Still, he is there. And by Sharlayan standards, he is quite striking. So why not go and pester him with questions?
The Spinner
---
Ever since losing his Archon title for reasons unknown, Zade's funding has taken a hit or two. Still, accurate predictions of the future tends to appeal to nobility in most cities. Perhaps you would part with your gil as well, for a peek into the future?

The Lover
---
During The Final Days, you could find Zade as part of the Ilsabard Contingent, marching into Garlemald with a mission to assist the suffering population. Perhaps you recognize him, one way or another? It has been a while, but surely it wouldn't hurt to get in touch.
The Warden
---
The Void never sleeps, always attempting to slip into our world through fissures and rifts. These monstrosities need to be taken care of, and Zade would never refuse the chance to exorcise some demons. So, are you here to slay Voidsent as well?
✯Items of Interest✯
Experimental Incantation-Disk
---
A series of square disks loaded with incantations, rituals, and utility spells. Despite their odd appearance, their interior is a complex web of magic materials, enchantments, and infused metals. Made to make up for Zade's inept spellcasting abilities, despite their unreliable nature, they more than make up for his inadequacies when his astrolabe is out of reach. Lately, they have seen an increase in use.
These disks can be activated through various means; a zap of aether, the touch of a finger, or even through verbal commands. Zade appears to favor the latter, however their success rate remains at a slowly rising 88.97%.

Vials of Divination Water
---
Samples of water collected from rivers, lakes, seas, and caverns. According to Zade, they are ample with aether suitable for divination, and are highly sought after as materials for indoor rituals and potions. The best kinds of water samples are those that are left to soak up the light of the full moon, however this information has long since been buried in Sharlayan's many Astrology tomes.
Though he is unlikely to admit it, the divinations done through the waters from his homeland still remain the most clear and straightforward.

The Future
---
A truly magnificent and expertly crafted Astrolabe, made up with minerals from a falling star. Its unique structure and etchings allows it to absorb aether from the heavens in a rapid fashion, thus making up for Zade's low aether pool by acting as a second energy source. Its surface is inlaid with rubies, jades, sapphires, and several other gemstones, each attuned to channel the elemental magicks of the heavens.
Casting aside, it is also favored as a ranged blunt weapon, or as some kind of ballistic buzzsaw. However this unorthodox usage of the astrolabe was quickly condemned by the Forum's conservative circles.
